Wakeupp-pix.com gets an overhaul! While the format is largely the same, the platform is more robust and flexible. Check out the update and get acquainted with some new features.
When you launch wakeupp-pix.com, the first thing you’ll see is a full-screen slider scrolling through featured photos. It’s all about the photos! The single line menu bar is minimally intrusive and highly accessible. Each portfolio can be reached from the menu or by scrolling down the homepage. Notice the new parallax effect on desktop computers.
Slider automatically displays featured images.

The portfolios are unchanged, though I’m thinking about ways I might add more. Please comment with your suggestions! When you dive into a portfolio, you will notice other improvements. The thumbnails are larger. The image lightbox is more stable and more consistent between computers and mobile devices. I think it looks much better.

I’m now using MailChimp to manage subscriptions for several reasons. 1) I use MailChimp for other sites. 2) The old list had limited features and was embedded in the website. 3) The subscription process is cleaner and easier to follow.
As always, your privacy is important to me. I only collect your email address to let you know I’ve posted new photographs. That’s it! Plus, each email contains an unsubscribe link that works. And, you only get on the list by subscribing. You explicitly choose to opt-in. I don’t assume you want to subscribe because you said you liked one of my photos.

For computer nerds, the site is still based on WordPress. I was using a Genesis theme. I liked the stability and responsiveness, but, not the limitations. While looking for a new way, a friend suggested Divi. I was hooked. Divi is the closest solution I’ve found for a robust wysiwyg website builder. I love it! And, Elegant Themes actively supports the product and Divi has a strong community of helpful users.
